Whisker in Auburn Hills Expands Pet Care Offerings, Completes $10 … – DBusiness
Whisker in Auburn Hills, a global leader in connected pet care offerings, announced it has sold its 1 millionth Robot (Litter-Robot and Feeder-Robot), marking a milestone for the company as it seeks to develop new technologies to solve pain points for today’s pet parents.
The sale culminates several recent developments as the brand recently launched the latest Litter-Robot iteration (Litter-Robot 4), completed a $10 million investment in a U.S. warehouse expansion in Juneau, Wisc., and grew its team to more than 400 U.S.-based employees with 40-plus engineers.
Key features of the Litter-Robot 4, a self-cleaning litter box, include a patented connected app, health-monitoring technology, and an evolution of the brand’s patented litter-sifting mechanism, among additional features that enhance the cat care experience.
Since launching in May, the company states Litter-Robot 4 sales have exceeded expectations.
“As the global leader in connected pet care and the inventors of the best-selling automatic globe-sifting litter box, Litter-Robot,, we take great pride in leading the smart pet tech category to transform cat parenthood for the better, and the sale of our millionth robot is just the start to Whisker doing just that,” says Jacob Zuppke, president and CEO of Whisker.
Last June, Whisker completed its $10 million investment to expand its U.S. manufacturing facility in Juneau, Wisc. The opening of the 162,500 square foot facility allowed for the creation of 100-plus new jobs, with an expected 200 more positions to open up in the next two years.
Whisker, formerly known as AutoPets, is the maker of Litter-Robot, Feeder-Robot, and Litterbox.com. The company, which designs, engineers, and assembles its pet robot appliances in the U.S., was launched in 2000 by inventor Brad Baxter.
