Two injured in off-road vehicle crash in Jerome Township – Midland Daily News

The U.S. Post Office at 2900 Rodd Street was closed after a vehicle collided with the building on Monday, March 4, 2019.
The following list includes recent reports from the Midland County Sheriff’s Office and the Midland Police Department. Compiled by reporter Tereasa Nims.
Sunday, Aug. 28
10:20 p.m. – Deputies were dispatched to a Warren Township residence to assist EMS regarding an 85-year-old male requesting medical assistance for his 85-year-old wife. Deputies arrived on scene and assisted EMS personnel per request. The woman was transported to ER via EMS and no further assistance was requested from deputies.
9:00 p.m. – Police were called to the 2700 block of Novak Street for a verbal domestic.
8:57 p.m. – A deputy responded to a two-vehicle accident that occurred on a Larkin Township roadway. Accident report was completed. The at-fault driver was cited.
2:35 p.m. – Deputies were dispatched to Jerome Township regarding a personal injury crash involving multiple off-road vehicles. A 20-year-old woman and her 25-year-old boyfriend were transported to ER for further medical attention. A report is being sent to the prosecutor for further review.
2:06 p.m. – A deputy was dispatched to a Geneva Township residence to check on a 19-year-old woman who may be suicidal. The caller, a 26-year-old Isabella County man, reported the woman was making statements that would have him believe she may harm herself. The deputy was able to contact her, and she advised she was in Mount Pleasant. The deputy stayed in contact with the woman until law enforcement in Isabella County was able to contact her to check her wellbeing.
1:38 p.m. – Deputies were dispatched to a delayed road rage complaint that resulted in a damaged pickup truck. Deputies contacted both parties. Neither party wished to pursue charges.
1:29 p.m. – A 48-year-old Jerome Township man reported he was having suicidal thoughts and looking for assistance. A deputy contacted him and transported him to the hospital where a petition was completed without incident. The deputy also provided him with some assistance phone numbers.
12:07 p.m. – Police were called to the 4500 block of North Saginaw Road for a private property crash.
8:18 a.m. – Police responded to a property crash damage complaint at Ashman and Buttles streets.
Saturday, Aug. 27
10:46 p.m. – Deputies were dispatched to a Lee Township location for speeding vehicles. Deputies checked the area and were unable to locate the vehicles.
10:05 p.m. – Deputies were dispatched to a Jasper Township residence for a loud party. Deputies spoke with the 48-year-old homeowner who advised the noise would no longer be an issue.
9:08 p.m. – A deputy contacted a Geneva Township woman who was reporting that the suspect of a personal protection order had contacted her via text. A report was taken and the incident documented.
8:43 p.m. – Deputies were sent to Lee Township for a report of a vehicle parked in a driveway and the person was refusing to leave. The person left prior to deputies arriving. The caller did not need any further assistance from deputies.
8:37 p.m. – A deputy assisted Lee Township Fire Department with a smoke investigation call. The smoke was coming from a campfire.
9:11 p.m. – An 82-year-old man had a verbal dispute over a civil matter with a tenant who resides at his property. Deputies spoke to both parties who agreed not to have further contact.
8:56 p.m. – Deputies were dispatched to a Lincoln Township residence in regarding a 56-year-old male reporting a delayed larceny that had occurred from his residence approximately six months ago. The 56-year-old man had no additional evidence or possible suspect information. The estimated total value of the stolen property is $2500.
8:20 p.m. – Police responded to the 3900 block of Bay City Road for a domestic violence complaint.
4:22 p.m. – A 32-year-old Caro man requested a well check on his 9-year-old son. The man reported that the mother, a 31-year-old Warren Township woman, said she would assault their son if he said the father’s name. A deputy checked on the child who was in good spirits and denied that his mother ever hurts him. The mother denied making such a comment. The father was informed of this, and he advised he didn’t think the mother would do that but still wanted the child checked on.
4:43 p.m. – Deputies spoke to a 61-year-old who stated he wanted to jump in front of traffic. The man was transported to the Midland ER. A mental petition was completed, and he was turned over to ER staff.
1:57 p.m. – Deputies were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle complaint on state land in Genva Township. The vehicle owner was contacted and the 16-year-old that was borrowing the vehicle reported damage to the vehicle and property missing. There are no known suspects currently.
12:48 p.m. – Deputies received a report of a vehicle driving more than 100 mph on the highway in Warren Township. The vehicle was in Lincoln Township and a 19-year-old male driver was cited for speeding.
12:15 p.m. – Police responded to the 1500 block of N. Magruder Road for a K9 assist for the Midland County Sheriff’s Office.
10:32 a.m. – A 27-year-old Homer Township man called regarding his 27-year-old wife having mental health issues. The woman was cooperative upon the deputy’s arrival and admitted to struggling with mental health issues. It was discussed that if things worsened to call 911 or if they don’t get better to seek a mental health petition through the courts.
10:05 a.m. – Police responded to W. Wackerly Street and Eastman Avenue for a hit and run crash.
7:59 a.m. – Deputies were dispatched to contact a 47-year-old Mount Haley Township woman regarding a tribal complaint. Deputies contacted the woman and advised her to call Tribal Police.
7:41 a.m. – Deputies dispatched to a Lee Township location regarding a 39-year-old man standing in the roadway refusing to move for vehicles. The man was located and returned home. A report is being sent to the prosecutor and parole department for a possible parole violation.
6:06 a.m. – Deputies assisted Michigan State Police with a with a domestic assault investigation in Mills Township that originated outside of Midland County. A 25-year-old male was subsequently arrested by the Michigan State Police.
Friday, Aug. 26
11:23 p.m. – A deputy was dispatched to a Warren Township location to attempt to locate a school bus reported as suspiciously parked on the edge of a roadway. A deputy checked the area and did not locate the school bus.
11:08 p.m. – Deputies were sent to a Lee Township residence for a report of a large party and multiple people fighting. Contact was made at the residence who advised there was no party at his residence and no one was fighting. The resident did not have people over.
10:44 p.m. – Police responded to the 600 block of Hemlock Street for aggravated/felonious assault and domestic violence complaints.
10:20 p.m. – A deputy was dispatched to a Porter Township location following a request from staff after an incident they had between a 42-year-old Porter Township woman resident and a 31-year-old Porter Township woman resident. A deputy assisted staff with speaking with the residents.
9:46 p.m. – Police responded to the 5300 block of Dublin Avenue for a domestic violence complaint.
9:10 p.m. – A deputy spoke with a 50-year-old Edenville Township resident who reported a side-by-side drove through his yard. The man stated there was no damage, but he requested assistance asking the driver not to do it again. A deputy spoke with the 39-year-old Edenville Township male driver who advised he would not do it again.
9:10 p.m. – Deputies were dispatched to a Greendale Township residence for a suspicious vehicle parked in the driveway. Deputies discovered that the vehicle belonged to a neighbor. The vehicle had a flat tire and could not make it the rest of the way home. The 44-year-old owner was awaiting a tow company to retrieve the vehicle.
10:59 p.m. – Police were called to the 100 block of Golfside Drive for an ordinance violation/suspicious situation complaint.
8:36 p.m. – A deputy spoke with a 34-year-old Jerome Township male regarding questions related to threatening statements made by his 29-year-old ex-girlfriend. The man was provided information regarding personal protection order services and probate court.
8:37 p.m. – A deputy spoke with a 27-year-old Coleman man regarding an online scam. The man wanted the report documented.
8:37 p.m. – Deputies spoke with a 58-year-old Lee Township man regarding a civil dispute over property. The 55-year-old male advised he only wanted the incident documented and no further assistance was requested from deputies.
4:35 p.m. – A deputy assisted a child protective services agent with the removal of a 9-year-old boy.
4:25 p.m. – Police responded to the 1100 block of East Carpenter Street for a domestic violence complaint.
2:59 p.m. – A 54-year-old woman reported finding a broken off key in her storage unit lock in Larkin Township. The broken key was removed, and the woman opened the storage unit. Nothing was taken and no entry was gained.
2:39 a.m. – Police were called to the 4700 block of Airport Road for a domestic assault complaint.
9:24 a.m. – Deputies spoke to a 51-year-old regarding harassing phone calls he was receiving in Jerome Township. The man was advised to block the numbers.
8:28 a.m. – An animal control deputy received a call regarding a stray dog on Nottingham Terrace in the City of Midland. The dog owners were located picked up the dog prior to the Deputy arriving.
6:58 a.m. – Deputies were dispatched to Ingersoll Township to assist Michigan State police with an investigation.
12:43 a.m. – Police responded to the 1900 block of Eastlawn Drive for a domestic violence complaint.
12:12 a.m. – Police were called to East Ashman Street and Waldo Road for an operating while intoxicated/property crash.
12:08 a.m. – Deputies were dispatched to a Larkin Township location for a verbal dispute between a 35-year-old Bentley woman and her 40-year-old Bentley husband. The parties were separated and there was no assault.
