The National Hurricane Center is tracking a tropical disturbance in the central Atlantic.
As of Thursday morning, the system decreased to a 10% chance of development.
The system is located 925 miles east-southeast of Bermuda.
“The system remains embedded within a frontal zone, which is expected to become even more pronounced later today as the low begins to move east-northeastward at 20 to 25 mph toward colder waters and interacts with a mid-latitude trough. Therefore, it is unlikely that the low will transition to a subtropical or tropical cyclone. Nevertheless, significant non-tropical development of this low is expected during the next couple of days,” the NHC said.

The last named storm in December was in 2013. The first one on record was in 1887, the year there were two named December storms.
WESH 2 meteorologists believe Tropical Storm Owen may form, but say it is moving away from the United States.

PET AND ANIMAL SAFETY
Your pet should be a part of your family plan. If you must evacuate, the most important thing you can do to protect your pets is to evacuate them too. Leaving pets behind, even if you try to create a safe space for them, could result in injury or death.
