Things to do in Pensacola: Two events for dog lovers this weekend – Pensacola News Journal
This weekend will be a time for dog lovers to get out of the house and find friends who also enjoy their four-legged companions.
WolfGang LLC will be holding two events this weekend. The Pups for Pride Paw-rade and Drag Fashion Show will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Perfect Plain Brewing Co. at 50 E. Garden St., and Dogs Days of Summer will happen from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Wisteria Tavern at 3808 N.12th Ave.
WolfGang LLC, created by spouses Kimberly Elaine and Jessica Wolford, is a dog event planning company. The couple puts on events and activities for people’s dogs such as birthday parties, pub crawls, adoption events and more.

Elaine felt an event like Pups for Pride was important since she identifies with the LGBTQ community and wanted to bring her love of dogs into Pride month. While Pensacola hosts a number of Pride events such as the Memorial Day weekend LGBTQ events and PensaPride, the community does not have anything for dogs.
“We are a lesbian couple so we wanted to make sure that we celebrate Pride,” Elaine said. “What better way to do that than include your dogs with you?”
At the Pups for Pride Paw-rade and Drag Fashion Show, owners are invited to dress their pups in their most colorful and fierce outfits and “strut your mutts.” The event is a ticketed event for all dogs, but people without dogs can watch and or participate in the parade at no charge.

The fee per dog is $30 for entry into the fashion show or paw parade, and tickets include drink specials and promotional Pride items.
The dog parade will start at about 7:15 p.m. and people will walk their dogs on the sidewalks of Palafox with their outfits on. Then they will come back for the dog fashion show, where guests can dance and have fun with their dogs on stage. The end of the night will conclude with three awards given to the “most prideful pup and human duos.”
There will be a performance by the drag queen Raven Samore, and the chosen nonprofit for the event, Sunday’s Child, will provide information during the event. The nonprofit organization that promotes diversity, inclusion and equality, including LGBTQ issues, will have information about the organization and how to sign up.
The Dog Days of Summer at Wisteria Tavern is a free event for anyone who can’t attend Pups for Pride. Dog Days of Summer will have vendors selling dog treats, merchandise and apparel. There will be live music, raffle prizes, drink specials, food from What the Cluck Chicken Truck, dog grooming tips and items from Purple Pooch Pawlor, adoptable dogs and a lot more.
Elaine said WolfGang LLC wants to make sure people are accepted at events like Pups for Pride and Dog Days of Summer to bring people together and create inclusive environments for everyone, no matter their race, gender or sexuality.
“We want to pride ourselves on being hard workers in our community for anything we do, whether it’s our events or whatever the case may be,” Elaine said. “We support our community, we support our small businesses, we support all of those things and we want people to know that just because our lifestyle seems a little different from yours, it’s really not. We’re literally the same people you are. It just happened to be two women or two men or whatever the case may be.”
