Move over Fido and Lassie, there are new dog names in town! A Reddit user has compiled data on New York’s most popular dog names in each borough, but what are the winners in Hell’s Kitchen?
Registration records from the city’s licensing system reveal the most popular dog names in Manhattan include French, Hudson, Georgie, Charlotte, Otto, Scout, Theo, Winston, Piper and Harvey, and Nrg800’s graphic identified the names as the “most distinctive” in the city. They later clarified that the data was compiled of the city’s “most common names in each borough compared with their overall usage in the city.”
Here in Hell’s Kitchen, where passionate pup owners gather at the neighborhood’s numerous dog runs, there is a wide variety of uniquely named furry friends, many of whom have their own social media accounts.
You may have spotted Midtown-based mini Goldendoodle Schatzi (which means “sweetheart” or “darling” in German):
Or perhaps, you’ve petted the perfectly coiffed Puccini the Yorkiepoo on your travels around the West Side.
Speaking of style, look no further for furry fashion inspiration than from Bergdorf New Yorkie, whose owner Brian Bustos is the head designer of LaDuca Shoes!
We don’t know if Valentino is named after the designer, but the Arkansas rescue pup is certainly a good model!
For the literary set, there’s the aptly named Byron, a former street dog who recently moved to Latvia after maintaining several glamorous residences in London, Brussels and Hell’s Kitchen:
