Castile soap is this magical thing: You can use it on your body and your home, because it’s an effective cleanser that’s also really gentle. You might have seen it in liquid form, but I love these bars because they’re great to keep in the shower—for me and for, let’s be honest, for a quick wall/tub/tile clean-up when I’m standing there and notice how grimy it’s gotten! —Sarah Smith, Editor in Chief
Not sure which noisome odor in my house is more bothersome—the litter box area in my basement or the bathroom my two teen boys use. To combat this problem, I rely upon Fresh Wave Odor Removing Gel. It’s a natural and safe, plant-powered gel that provides continuous odor relief without harmful ingredients. Just peel back the foil lid and let it do its work for a couple of months. Comes in neutral, lavender and lemon scents and is refillable—it’s good for you and for the planet. —Sue Kakstys, Production Coordinator
Cozy Earth’s super-soft lounge socks are so perfect for a lazy Sunday and/or curling up in your favorite book nook. This pack comes with a set of three (and a variety of color options) to suit your style needs. Did I mention Oprah loves them too?! —Allie Early, Digital Director
I’ve been upping my workout game and my airpods just weren’t cutting it any more. After having them for two years the sound quality declined dramatically, and I needed a noise-canceling alternative that still had a microphone so I could take phone calls, etc. These headphones from Sony are truly a game-changer. They come with an accompanying app that can help you customize your experience, but best of all, you can toggle between noise canceling and ambient noise. It’s a safety feature I cherish while walking around NYC. —Emily Goldman, Senior Editor
Hand soap isn’t one of the products most of us think about, but this formula takes a basic everyday staple to another level. It’s made with a base of plant oils (olive, argan, castor) so it doesn’t dehydrate hands like other soaps. But best of all, the scent is made of lavender and chamomile essential oils, so it turns hand washing into a mini relaxing aromatherapy experience. Heavenly! —April Franzino, Beauty Director
I’m always on the lookout for a great pair of leggings for hitting the gym, lounging around the house, or running errands—and these definitely fit the bill. These are said to be a dupe for the ever-popular Lululemon leggings and are a fraction of the price. These leggings check all boxes: comfortable, cute, flattering, and sweat-wicking. Plus, they come in a ton of different colors. —Shannen Zitz, Editorial Assistant
With this abnormally warm fall we’ve had, I’ve been sweating a lot more in my winter transitional clothes than normal. I decided to try a new deodorant and was recommended this clear gel option from Dry Idea. After a few weeks of use, I have to say this is a new favorite. It keep me dry for longer, goes on clear, and smells super fresh (think similar to baby powder). If you’re in the market for a new affordable deodorant, I don’t think you can wrong with this product! —Madeleine Haase, Assistant Editor
When a beauty editor buys something over and over (and we have access to tons and tons of products), you know it’s gotta be good. I feel like I had tried every shower cap on the market—from budget-friendly to expensive—and nothing keeps my hair dry and protected like this one from Drybar. It’s big, so even when my hair is in a big bun, it covers every strand. And is lined with terrycloth to absorb moisture and prevent frizz. If you wanna extend a blowout without risking any moisture seeping in during your shower, this is your answer. —Dori Price, Freelance Beauty Editor
After I got Covid, I became pretty sensitive to a lot of fragranced products. Scents I used to love started giving me headaches. So I had to find a body lotion that didn’t cause a reaction. It took months, but this hydrating body cream from Grown Alchemist has done the trick for me. It smells like an elevated Creamsicle thanks to notes of mandarin. It’s fruity and fresh without being overbearing, so you can wear it even with a perfume. As we head into winter, it’s keeping even my super dry skin nourished! —Catharine Malzahn, Beauty Assistant
People always talk about how amazing Bombas’ socks are (and they’re not wrong), but I snagged some of their t-shirts and I am HOOKED. They’re super comfortable, quick-drying (seriously, no sweat stains), extremely light, and versatile. I can wear it to the gym with leggings or tucked into jeans for a more casual look. I also love that they maintain their philosophy of donating items for every one purchased. It’s a win-win! —Arielle Weg, Associate Editor
You know what I like in a cookie? (Besides great taste, of course.) When the serving size is 17. Sweet Crisps by 34 degrees is a cross between a cookie and a cracker—light as air, thin and crispy, with only 2g fat in 17 crisps, and less than 1g sugar per crisp. The chocolate flavor is great with a cup of coffee; I’m looking forward to trying these crumbled over yogurt or cottage cheese (or, c’mon, ice cream). —Lisa Bain, Executive Director, Health Newsroom
File this hosting hack (or hostess gift idea) under “genius,” not “lazy.” Because we all have enough on our plates, I introduce you to: Boarderie. You can get the cheese board of your dreams delivered straight to your door, no assembly required. You’ll receive a curated selection of unique cheeses (goat fig and rose or cranberry chiptole cheddar, anyone?!), charcuterie (truffle salami?!), and accoutrements like dried fruit, nuts, olives, spreads, and crackers—all displayed on a beautiful reusable wooden serving board with a numbered postcard map so you know what you’re tasting. I live for a cheese board and was blown away by the quality and variety—you definitely get your money’s worth, and you can’t beat the effort level of zero! —Alyssa Jung, Senior Editor
I’ve been buying Girlfriend Collective gear since they launched their first pair of leggings in 2016 and I love them so much. This new line has a super-soft ribbed texture and comes in a fun variety of colors. What’s more, they have inclusive sizing that ranges from XXS to 6XL with two different inseam lengths. If you’re into the cropped-bra look, they also have really comfy-cute ones to match. —Kaitlyn Pirie, Senior Editor
How do I have trouble sleeping? Let me count the ways: anxiety, hot flashes, floppy boyfriend, dog in the bed (yes, I know but they’re both pretty cute). The main culprit, however, is noise. My guy snores, plus we live by a bridge over which a train travels several times an hour, so I’ve been sleeping with foam earplugs for years. They did a merely okay job. Finally, I tried Quiet On 3.1 Active Noise cancelling earbuds. These tiny devices (way smaller than AirPods, but with a similar style in-ear tip) block out low-frequency sounds such as traffic and dishwashers almost entirely! They are rechargable and analog—no Bluetooth needed, and the external part is so small (for me, it fit entirely within my ear) that it doesn’t press into your head when you lay on your side. They’re not inexpensive, but had I not been given a pair to test, I would have paid a lot more to sleep like I have been lately. —Stephanie Dolgoff, Deputy Director, Health Newsroom
I was looking for a cleaner, simpler diet for my dog with PLE and after a lot of research landed on Just Food For Dogs. It’s all human grade ingredients, a little higher in protein and easily digestible. It’s a bit less expensive than others and I add more chicken to it to increase the protein and extend the food for more meals. It actually looks like something you might eat. My dog can be picky, but loves this. —Bruce Perez, Visual Director
