Early Friday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South Ingram Avenue. A passenger inside the vehicle was found to have a Johnson County Failure to Appear warrant for No Insurance. Dalton Wright, 29, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in on his warrant. Bond was set at $150 cash or surety.
Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and South Barrett Avenue for a turn signal violation Thursday evening. The passenger in the vehicle was found to have an active protection order against the driver. Lance T. Jones, 32, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Jones was booked and released for Violation of an Order of Protection.
Officers responded to the Breaktime store, 318 West Broadway Boulevard Thursday evening for a report of theft. A suspect was observed stealing a case of Corona beer. The investigation is ongoing.
Wednesday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the lobby of the Police Department in reference to a property damage report. Breanna Billingsley reported that in the overnight hours, someone had damaged her vehicle using what appeared to be a bb gun while it was parked in the 1400 block of South Sneed Avenue.
Sedalia Police met with Dorothy Wright in the Police Department lobby Wednesday morning. Wright wished to report she had discovered unauthorized transactions on her bank statement. Wright provided copies of her banking information and a report has been completed.
Thursday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of West 6th Street for a report of an assault that had occurred years ago. Information was collected and a report was completed per the victim's wishes.
Officers stopped a vehicle in the intersection of East 14th Street and South Hancock Avenue Thursday morning after noticing it did not have any registration. A computer check revealed that an occupant of the vehicle had two Failure to Appear warrants out of Benton County for their arrest on original charges of Possession of Dangerous Drugs and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Levi Keith Ross, 23, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Benton County Line, where he was handed over to a Deputy with the Benton County Sheriff's Office. Bond on the warrants was set at $1,400 cash or surety.
Thursday morning, an Officer responded to the 200 block of South Missouri Avenue for a report of a dog that got onto a school bus. The dog was aggressive toward Officers and a juvenile was unable to get away from the dog. Officers contained the situation until Animal Control arrived to take the dog into custody without incident.
