A Missouri woman, Brianna Lynn Lingo, 29, is facing felony charges for confessing to stealing and burning a dog alive owned by her mother as part of a “sacrifice ritual.” After her mother called 911 asking them to help her save the terrier mix, it was too late when they arrived on the scene.
All they found was the dog’s body, which had been burned in a fire pit in a courtyard, reports USA Today. Lingo was arrested and sent to Randolph County Jail with a $15,000 bond. Although she was charged with felonies and jail time, we must demand a lifetime ban on animal ownership and mandatory counseling.

It is devastating to imagine the suffering this dog must have endured in their final moments and we must do everything in our power to ensure this never happens again. While we cannot change the horrific treatment that many animals have already endured in the past, we can give animals a voice and hold perpetrators accountable for crimes in the present and the future. Sign this petition to demand a lifetime ban on animal ownership and counseling for this woman!
