Certification helps veterinary and pet professionals prevent and relieve pet stress, fear, and anxiety
Fear Free, LLC, announced that over 100,000 veterinary and pet professionals have earned the Fear Free Certified professional designation. Through the certification, these professionals can help prevent and ease fear, anxiety, and stress in animals.
“Hitting this amazing milestone is a testament to how widely Fear Free education and certification has been embraced by those in the animal care industry,” expressed Ruth Garcia, CEO of Fear Free, in an organizational release.¹ “As we continue to build out the ecosystem of Fear Free Certified Professionals, more and more pets and pet owners will be able to benefit from better access to Fear Free care.”
According to the release,¹ since 2016, Fear Free has provided more than 248,000 veterinary professionals, pet professionals, animal welfare employees and volunteers, and pet owners with online education. Within these programs, veterinary professionals, animal trainers, pet sitters, groomers, and pet board and daycare providers have the chance to complete their desired certification program as well as sign a Fear Free Pledge. The pledge is to uphold a humane, emotionally protective code of conduct and ethical standard for care and professionalism.
