Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest results: Who won the hot dog competition in 2022? – Sporting News
Joey Chestnut turned in a dominant, if personally unimpressive performance at the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest Monday.
While on crutches in 81-degree weather, Chestnut netted his 15th championship and seventh in a row by eating 63 hot dogs in 10 minutes, about 15 ahead of second-place finisher Geoffrey Esper.
Rookie James Webb rounded out the top three with 41 hot dogs.
Chestnut started out at his usual torrid pace but tapered off quickly compared to past years. He seemed to not have anything left in the tank at the end, but by then it didn’t matter.

“I slowed down, but it was a crazy contest,” Chestnut said after. He also acknowledged some of his foot pain, saying it hurt after but he was in his zone early.
One thing Chestnut didn’t mention was a bizarre moment in which a protester rushed the stage and interfered with him. Chestnut responded by swiftly choking the protester before the intruder was escorted off the stage.

In the women’s division, Miki Sudo reclaimed her crown, finishing 40 hot dogs after missing last year’s contest. She reclaimed the pink belt from Michelle Lesco, who ate 26 hot dogs, and Sarah Rodriguez finished third at 23.25.
While it may not have been a record-breaking day for the top eaters in the world, it was a dominant one all the same. The 2022 belt winners will, once again, be Chestnut and Sudo.
