Michigan This Weekend: Halloween, NoogieFest, Chili Dogs & More – witl.com

Halloween is almost here, and there's one final weekend to get out and about to enjoy what October in Mid-Michigan has to offer.
Here are a few of the things going on within a couple hours' drive of Lansing between October 27-30, 2022.
Here's a delicious way to start the final weekend of October! Thursday night (10/27) between 5pm and 8pm, downtown Ionia will host its annual Autumn Celebration, Chili Dawg Challenge. Chili and hot dogs are of course involved, but so are trick-or-treating, costume contests, and pumpkin decorating. There'll be free hot chocolate to take the chill off too.
The Henry Ford in Dearborn hosts Hallowe'en in Greenfield Village for one final weekend (10/27 through 10/30). Costumed characters will greet visitors, with skits and "newly imagined storybook experiences" sprinkled throughout.the village. Special lighting and sound effects add to the Halloween mystique.
 
Luminaries, lanterns and lights will put the glow in YpsiGLOW this Friday night (10/28) from 7pm-10pm in downtown Ypsilanti. You're invited to take part in the luminary procession, then enjoy entertainment ranging from a drag show to a dance party!
Gilda's Club on Bridge Street NW in Grand Rapids holds its Halloween NoogieFest on Saturday (10/29) between 1pm and 3pm. The event is open to the public, and promises "friendly ghoulish games, crafts, activities and creepy cuisine" for kids and adults of all ages. Costumes are encouraged, but no scary ones please.
 
Kalamazoo's Milham Park is the setting for the Halloween Forest on Saturday (10/29) from 2pm to 4pm. Planned events include "a costume contest, inflatable corn maze, spin art, a 360-degree photo booth, and lots of Halloween themed games setup throughout the park".
Bring the kids to the Pinckney Spooktacular Saturday evening (10/29) from 5:30pm to 8pm on the lawn next to The Hub in downtown Pinckney. The event kicks off with the kids' costume parade at 5:45, followed by a costume contest and trunk-or-treat.
All day Sunday (10/30) at Roosevelt Park in Grand Rapids, it's the Dia de los Muertos Festival. The event features elaborate displays honoring those who have passed on, as well as Latin-inspired food, music, arts and crafts.
