Join Animal Welfare Department League of Volunteers – City of Albuquerque
The City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department’s (AWD) superhero volunteer team is made up of ordinary people with big hearts. They are dedicated, caring individuals who give their time to make a positive impact on shelter pets. Are you interested in helping Albuquerque’s Homeless Animals? Have at least 6 hours a month to help pets in need? Then join our everyday superhero team, the League of Volunteers.
“Assisting injured animals’ to heal both physically and mentally at AWD’s clinic is why I volunteer,” said Arline Gregoire, AWD Volunteer. “The sheer joy of seeing an animal “feel better” is what keeps me going.”
With so many pets in need, it takes a superhero team to get the job done. You don’t need to be faster than a speeding bullet or swing from webs. Your biggest superpowers are your time and talents. Animal Welfare can work around your schedule and will provide training. Our volunteers do important tasks that can include socializing and walking dogs, playing with and cuddling cats, fostering, acting as ambassadors at offsite adoption events, supporting our clinic, taking photos, and much more. We’re open 7 days/week for volunteer support, and yours would be appreciated any day you’re available.
“This is the time to answer the call,” said Carolyn Ortega, Director of Animal Welfare Department. “Your talents can enhance our shelter pet’s quality of life. Please be part of the One Albuquerque Spirit and join out League of Volunteers today.”
Must be 18 years of age to volunteer. Must be able to volunteer a minimum of 6 hours per month. To apply: visit www.cabq.gov/pets or email [email protected].
We all have greatness inside of us. Use your power and passion for good and help improve the lives of our homeless pets! Join our team today. Animal Welfare wants you.
