Helen Cooper Obituary – Burlington Hawk Eye
Helen Louise Cooper, 88, of Burlington, died Sunday, September 18, 2022, at the Azria Health Care Center in Mediapolis.
Born September 7, 1934, in Fife Lake, MI, she was the daughter of Raymond and Bertha Ouderkirk. On September 13, 1950, she married Frank Warren Cooper in Vicksburg, MI. He died January 22, 2012.
Helen worked at a print shop before working at the Iowa Ammunition Plant for about five years. She later worked at Sylvania for two years.
She was a member Divine Mercy Parish and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She was a seamstress, called Bingo, and loved her dog, as well as every dog, named Buffy. She enjoyed going to garage sales.
Survivors include children, Frank (Bonne) Cooper of Burlington, Carol (Dennis) Fritz, Sandy Cooper both of Burlington, and Pam Eversmeyer of League City, TX; 11 grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Joseph Cooper, four brothers, Deverne, Norwal, Edward, and William and one sister, Rosemary Scharphorn.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
