In a heartbreaking rescue story, this dog was chained up for years and found in the middle of nowhere in Greece. When her rescuers arrived, she was so happy for human contact and to be freed from the heavy chain. For many pet owners, it’s difficult to imagine abandoning a beloved pet, but this was the sad reality for this poor girl. Fortunately, there is a happy ending to her story!

Despite being mistreated and chained up for years, Mumia was still so friendly and full of love. Soon after Mumia was rescued, a family was traveling in Greece and decided to visit a local animal shelter. When they saw Mumia, they had an instant connection and decided to fly her home to Finland with them!
Unfortunately, it is not uncommon to find abandoned dogs in yards and public spaces tied to trees or other stationary objects. For these innocent animals, being tied up and helpless is terrifying. Even when rescued in time, most abused dogs need plenty of time to recover their trust in humans. However, the unbreakable bond that results from patience, dedication, and compassion is worth it!
