Elena Rybakina: Fans react to adorable clip of star with Daria Saville's dog – GIVEMESPORT
Elena Rybakina has every reason to be cheerful right now.
The Kazakhstani star has been in scintillating form across the past couple of weeks and will play Aryna Sabalenka in the Australian Open final on Saturday.
Rybakina has dropped just one set so far in the competition and defeated world number one Iga Swiatek in convincing fashion.
Yet, despite her impressive form of late, the 23-year-old has kept her celebrations to a minimum – barely reacting after reaching her second major final.
While tennis itself doesn’t appear to be enough to get Rybakina smiling, it seems animals are the key to her heart.
Footage of the Khazakhstani holding Daria Saville’s dog Tofu has emerged on social media and it’s fair to say she was all smiles.
Saville even took to Twitter to express her joy at seeing Rybakina enjoying her time with Tofu.
“I’m a proud motherpupper,” she said.

Rybakina is not the only star to be hanging out with Tofu. Indeed, the likes of Novak Djokovic, Coco Gauff and Ons Jabeur have also been pictured with the adorable dog.

Understandably, fans found Rybakina’s interaction with Tofu hilarious and many were quick to express their thoughts.
“Rybakina hates people, [is] indifferent to shiny metallic objects, [but] adores cute animals,” joked one Reddit user.
“Ahh, we finally found her kryptonite. She can be broken after all,” wrote another.
“I barely recognised her, because she doesn’t smile like that on the court,” added a third.
A fourth stressed: “Well, now I’m sold. She is my favourite female tennis player from now on.”
As mentioned, Rybakina is not known for her exuberant celebrations and the 23-year-old had the calmest reaction ever to winning the Wimbledon title last year.
The world number 23 defeated Jabeur at the All England Club to secure her first Grand Slam title but upon claiming victory, she did little more than clench her fist and let out a sigh of relief.
Even BBC Sport tweeted: “Imagine winning Wimbledon and still keeping your cool like this, fair play Elena Rybakina.”

It remains to be seen whether Rybakina will muster more emotion if she wins in Melbourne on Saturday.
But first things first, she’ll have to defeat the in-form Sabalenka, in what promises to be a thriller.
