In typical Ryan Reynolds fashion, it was revealed on social media this afternoon that not only is Deadpool coming back soon, but he’s bringing Hugh Jackman along with him.
The third installment in the Deadpool franchise, and Deadpool’s first official foray into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will be opening in theaters on September 6, 2024!
And yes, Hugh Jackman will be back as Wolverine one more time in Deadpool 3, reprising the role he had allegedly played for the final time in Logan back in 2017.
You can watch the humorous announcement video from Ryan Reynolds below, wherein the two actors nonchalantly join forces to completely break the internet this week.
Last we heard, Marvel Studios had hired sisters Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin to write Deadpool 3, with Shawn Levy (Free Guy) on board to direct.
The future of the franchise was unclear in the wake of Disney acquiring Fox, where the previous two movies had been made. Deadpool is now *officially* a Marvel Studios property.
Back in 2016, Deadpool scored big at the box office with a $782 million worldwide gross. The sequel in 2018 surpassed even that massive total, pulling in $785 million worldwide.
Stay tuned for more on the return of Deadpool as we learn it.

Jenn Wexler, who directed punk rock slasher The Ranger, is back with The Sacrifice Game, a 1970s-set horror film that takes place during Christmas break.
Bloody DIsgusting has the first image from the film.
“Set in the 1970s, The Sacrifice Game follows two students, Samantha and Clara, who stay behind at an elite boarding school during Christmas break. When a group of cult killers arrive, intent on summoning a demon, the girls must fight to survive the night.”
Mena Massoud (Aladdin), Olivia Scott Welch (Fear Street), Gus Kenworthy (American Horror Story: 1984) and Chloë Levine (The OA) star alongside Derek Johns (The Wolf and the Lion), Laurent Pitre (Under the Banner of Heaven), Madison Baines (1UP) and Georgia Acken.
Sean Redlitz wrote the script with Wexler.
Wexler said in a previously-released statement, “The Sacrifice Game is my tribute to the beauty and boldness of ’70s horror, anchored in an unlikely friendship between outsiders.”
Shudder will be releasing the film, possibly this holiday season.
