Clear The Shelters 2022 in Northern California: How to adopt a pet or donate this August – KCRA Sacramento

Animal shelters in Northern California and across the country are teaming up with NBC stations, including KCRA 3, to find loving homes for pets as part of the Clear The Shelters pet adoption and donation campaign.
The campaign runs from Aug. 1 to Aug. 31. More than a half-million pets have found their fur-ever homes since NBCUniversal Local’s initial Clear The Shelters pet adoption event in North Texas in 2014 expanded to include participation from NBC and Telemundo affiliates across the country.
Take a look at the map below to find participating shelters in Northern California. (App users, click here to see the map.) People can also use the WeRescue app to find adoptable pets in their area.

Participating NorCal shelters include:
Online donations can be made at the shelters or through partners Greater Good Charities and The Animal Rescue Site.
Shelters lack resources and financial capabilities that would allow them to keep animals for long periods of time.
