Belfast pooches are being urged to come forward for a festive fashion show in the city next month.
The Crufty Christmas Fashion Show is being held to raise money for Guide Dogs NI and celebrate the cultural hub of 2 Royal Avenue becoming a dog-friendly venue in the city.
Owners and their four-legged friends across any breed and age can compete in a number of categories, including pets styled in the best Christmas couture, the best dressed dogs and their human and dogs that are inspired by Belfast.
The glitz continues with the competition guest judged by well-known broadcaster and TV personality Julian Simmons, with prizes including a range of doggie vouchers and merchandise.
The event is also free for spectators to attend and donations to Guide Dogs NI can be made on the day.
“I’m delighted to be on the judging panel for this fabulous event. I’m sure we’ll see a few divas on the day – on and off the catwalk,” said Julian.
“It really will be a lot of fun – and you don’t need a dog to be part of it. Come down, bring the family and join in the craic. It’s all for a really good cause too which makes it even more special.”

The 2 Royal Avenue building recently underwent a period of closure while “internal improvement works” were carried out at the venue.
The building – which was previously the home of a Tesco store and is a listed property – was bought by Belfast City Council in October last year.
It has since become a cultural mecca, hosting gigs and art exhibitions and includes plant life and bespoke artworks. It also houses a café.
Deputy Lord Mayor councillor Michelle Kelly explained she has chosen Guide Dogs NI as one of her official charities for her year in office.
“This is set to be a really fun, festive event and all for a good cause. We’re a city of dog-lovers and it’s great that 2 Royal Avenue is now a dog-friendly venue, following in the footsteps of St George’s Market,” she said.
“The work of Guide Dogs NI is just incredible; they provide critical support for people who are visually impaired and who rely on these wonderful dogs to help them navigate daily life.
“Anyone who has witnessed a working guide dog will know just how remarkable they are, and I hope that people will be able to support this fantastic charity, while having a bit of fun at the same time.”
