“I’m the biggest snacker in the world!” she tells WH.

The Brazilian pop singer is making music history as the first Brazilian artist to take home a Moonperson at the MTV Video Music Awards, per Harper’s Bazaar. And she just won an American Music Award for Favorite Female Latin Artist, per Hola!
On top of that, she’s also major fitspo. I mean, to be able to dance and twerk on stage for over an hour, the “Envolver” singer must have a rigorous workout routine, amirite?
“I don’t love working out, to be honest with you,” the 2023 Grammy nominee for Best New Artist tells WH. But, she does maintain a consistent routine to keep up with her cardio-heavy stage performances as well as for health reasons.
What exactly does the “Lobby” crooner do to stay in tip-top shape? It’s a lot of strength training—“particularly [of] the muscles [in the] legs, arms, back, and boom boom,” or, the booty, she says. So, yes, the “Me Gusta” singer is definitely big on squats!
Anitta is also a fan of yoga—to exercise the body and mind—and Pilates—not only to tone her six-pack abs, but also as a preventative measure. “Pilates helps so much with my back and [other] physical problems,” she says.
And, once a week, the Á Procura da Anitta Perfeita artist tries to practice a martial art or combat sport like Muay Thai or jiu-jitsu, she tells WH.
When it comes to health and wellness, the “Downtown” singer lives by one motto: “It’s all about balance.”
“People look at my body and they say, ‘Oh no, you don’t eat the things you say you eat,’ but actually I do,” she tells me during our call. FYI, the pop megastar is really into pasta (uh, same). Her philosophy is that if you maintain a healthy diet for most of the day (i.e. in the morning and afternoon), then you can be a bit more open when it comes to other meals. (Hello, snacks galore!)

In other words, Anitta is not one to restrict herself when it comes to food. In fact, she very honestly informed me during our conversation that she planned to have hot dogs for dinner with friends—vegan, of course, as the pop singer follows a plant-based diet.
If you’re curious to know what else this girl from Rio (get it?)—and, uh, international superstar in the making—eats and drinks to stay energized and healthy, Anitta chatted with Women’s Health to share everything she eats in a day. Read on for all the juicy deets.
Before eating anything, the first thing Anitta has in the morning is a celery juice. “I drink celery juice before [breakfast]. I wait 20 minutes, and then I eat,” she tells WH.
Afterwards, she will have her go-to breakfast meal of oatmeal pancakes. Need a play-by-play? It’s essentially a pancake made with rolled oats. A typical recipe may consist of oats, milk, flour, eggs, and some sort of oil or butter. Anitta’s version has rolled oats and a non-dairy milk—usually an almond milk. To top it off, “I like to put peanut butter on it,” she says.

Sometimes she might pair her pancakes with some fruit, preferably “a papaya or maybe mango,” she says. (Yum!)
For lunch, Anitta usually has a salad. She usually tosses her greens with “either mushrooms, beans, or maybe sweet potatoes,” she says.

For her first and second meals of the day, she’s a bit more intentional with her diet, and “then at night, I just eat whatever,” she notes. “Like tonight I’m cooking hot dogs with my friends, to be honest.” Who doesn’t love a classic frank?
“I’m the biggest snacker in the world!” Anitta proclaims during our call. Her favorite? Lay’s potato chips. “That’s all we’re eating during rehearsals,” she tells WH. “It’s practical, easy. I like that.”

She’s such a big fan, in fact, that she partnered with the chip brand to celebrate “the power of joy in all forms” and invite fans to “‘Stay Golden’ no matter what life throws their way,” according to a press release.
As part of the campaign, Lay’s and Anitta produced a remix of her hit song “Envolver” using the power of potatoes to fuel the music. “The track was recorded in a studio, leveraging the electricity created by more than 6,000 potatoes in a never-been-done-before way, setting a Guinness World Records title,” the press release states.

And while Frito-Lay started in America, Anitta is convinced that the Lay’s brand chips sold in Brazil are the best. “We Brazilians always say whatever is out of Brazil is better,” she says. (Hey, I’m sold!)
Dinnertime is when Anitta allows herself to really let loose…in terms of her diet. She usually opts to cook at home with friends rather than eat out. Why? For one, she’s such a big artist, especially in her native Brazil, that stepping outside to enjoy a meal at a restaurant is simply too much of a hassle. “I need to be ready for pictures, and so it’s a whole process.” (Fair.)
But, more importantly, “I like the experience of bringing people home,” she says. “I think outside of Brazil, people are more about dinners, but here it’s more about ‘Let’s go to each other’s houses.’”
As for what she’s cooking: “I like cooking pasta,” she says. And preferably gluten-free.
“Oh, there we’re talking!” Anitta exclaims when I ask her about her favorite desserts. ICYWW, Anitta loves all creamy desserts—bonus points if it has strawberries.
When I ask her if vegan cheesecake is on this list, she says, “Yes, cheesecakes. And cream—a lot of cream, whipping cream.” Cheesecake and strawberries—surely, a match made in heaven.

Anitta is not much of a drinker. “I’m not the type of person that would sit at a dinner and order wine, for example,” she says. “I go for the juices more than anything.”
If she is drinking, however, she’s opting for a bottle of Beet Bee, a Brazilian craft beer made with honey. “It doesn’t taste like beer,” she explains. “It tastes like soda. It’s very sweet and really good.” Anitta is such a fan that she wishes that she could bring the drink outside of Brazil, so that everyone can enjoy its sweet, soft taste.
So, I’m hearing that Brazil has the best papayas, Lay’s chips and beer? (BRB, booking a flight as we speak.)
