Hyderabad now has separate crematorium for pets | Details here – India Today

By Abdul Basheer: A separate crematorium for pet animals has been established in Hyderabad. The facility is located at Fathullaguda, LB Nagar Zone. This has been established to provide dignified and respectful final rites to pet animals in a scientific manner as per Pollution Control Board (PCB) norms.
As per the PCB norms with zero emission, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) allocated land and granted permission to People for Animals (PFA), an animal welfare organisation recognized by the Animal Welfare Board of India, to establish a world-class small animal crematorium with LPG Gaseous Incineration in the GHMC animal care centre located at Fathullahguda.
GHMC, at an approximate cost of Rs 1 crore, which includes the construction of the civil structure and the purchase of machinery, installation, etc., has been taken up at PFA’s own cost. The crematorium has the capacity to incinerate/cremate about four dogs per cycle with a complete cremation time of about two hours.
The Telangana State Pollution Control Board (TSPCB) has accorded a consent order for its establishment and operation. The order lays down exhaustive conditions to control air, water, soil and noise pollution within the permissible levels. The facility has undertaken to comply with all the regulations specified by PCB.
An MoU has also been signed between GHMC & PFA wherein the PFA will collect user charges from owners for cremating their beloved pets.
