Potential Tropical Cyclone 15 forms, expected to strengthen into tropical storm – WESH 2 Orlando

The National Hurricane Center said Potential Tropical Cyclone 15 has formed and forecasters are continuing to track it.
The system was located about 160 miles south-southeast of Kingston, Jamaica and 415 miles east-southeast of Grand Cayman.
Potential Tropical Cyclone 15 had winds of 40 mph and the system was moving west at 12 mph.
It has been given a 90% chance of additional development in the next five days and the next two days.
“Slow strengthening is expected through Monday, and the system could become a tropical storm later tonight or on Monday. A faster rate of strengthening is expected starting Monday night, and the system could be near hurricane strength Tuesday night or Wednesday,” the NHC wrote.
WESH 2 meteorologists said this system is not expected to impact Central Florida.
