There were no financial details on the deal but United Petfood Group said it would take over the brands and customer base at the factory. The company said it will house production and distribution at the current sites and move administrative functions to United Petfood UK. 
Gold Line Feeds was an independent animal feed manufacturer with 80 years of experience situated in Northamptonshire. The British factory supplies about 20,000 tonnes of dry pet food each year.
Gold Line Feeds was  formed in 2020 from Dodson & Horrell Ltd, when the business decided to focus on its specialised expertise in dog and small animal nutrition. It holds a Royal Warrant for its Chudleys dog food. It also has other brands including Autarky, Gusto and Trophy Pet Foods. 
United Petfood said the acquisition strengthens its position as full-service pet food producer.
United Petfood Group operates out of 20 pet food facilities situated in eight different European countries. It said the takeover is in line with the strategy of United Petfood to reinforce and grow the business.
It has been a busy time in the pet food manufacturing market. 
At the beginning of this year Cranswick acquired Grove Pet Food​s,​ breaking into pet food processing as it continued its mission to diversify its protein portfolio. 
While Inspired Pet Nutrition, the company behind the Harringtons and Wagg pet food brands​,​ invested more than £6m at its plant at Kinmel in North Wales. The investment was set to triple its wet dog tray capacity to 75m units a year. 


Pet food manufacturer Pets Choice​, which produces brands such as Webbox and Bob Martin, revealed its plans to open a new 11,148m2 site to cater for the increasing demand for pet food products.
And Own-label dry pet food manufacturer GA Pet Food Partners​completed the construction of a new ingredients kitchen at its Plocks Farm, Bretherton production plant earlier this year.
