Council launches pet pop up stalls – Central Queensland Today – CQ Today

Rockhampton Regional Council is creating some paw-fect ways to engage with pet owners at pop-up stalls along popular walking tracks and parks around the region.
Planning and Regulation Councillor Grant Mathers said it would be a fun way for our community to come together, meet fellow dog lovers and learn tips and hints for responsible pet ownership.
“Over the course of the events that will extend through to next year, we will be sharing information on everything from obedience training, vaccination and microchipping to dog park etiquette, and importantly, keeping our kids safe around dogs,” Cr Mathers said.
Council kicked off the first event along the Frenchville walking track from 3pm to 6pm on Thursday 29 September.
Cr Mathers said there would be many more to follow.
Parks Sport and Public Spaces Councillor Cherie Rutherford said this is a great way to get out an explore some of the beautiful parks and spaces around our region.
“With the daylight hours now getting a bit longer, it is the perfect time to get out and enjoy the outdoors, and what better way than with your best mate?” Cr Rutherford said.
“So if you love walking your pooch, why not take the opportunity to discover some different tracks and parks, while connecting with nature and connecting with your pet.
