Dogtoberfest – Beaumont Examiner |
September 29, 2022
The bark is back! Beaumont Main Street presents their annual Dogtoberfest in downtown Beaumont at “Central Bark” (the area between the Julie Rogers Theatre and Beaumont Public Library, 765 Pearl St.) on Saturday, Oct. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This fur-filled event offers a “paws-it-tively” fun experience and events for all ages. Parking and entry are free. For a minimal donation, you and your dog can compete in contests, participate in games, arts and crafts, and humans can enjoy delicious food and drinks from local vendors. All proceeds and sponsorship benefit the downtown revitalization efforts of Beaumont Main Street.
The “Strut Your Mutt” Parade will jumpstart this year’s event at 9 a.m. followed by a variety of contests including Mr. & Mrs. Dogtoberfest, Master/Dog Look
Alike, Cutest Dog, Most Talented Dog, Best Dressed, Best Tail Wagging and Best Howler (human and/or canine).
In addition, the winner of the popular Facebook Favorite will be announced from the canine receiving the most “LIKES” on the Beaumont Main Street Facebook page. The event will feature a style show (adoptable dogs) and a chance to honor local service dogs.
There will also be numerous vendors and activities along Puppy Dog Lane where dog lovers and canine advocates share information and awareness and offer up tips, treats and services. Patrons can also follow the sidewalk to “Neiman Barkus” for the latest in canine fashion and sample delicious gourmet dog treats.
Dogs can have their paw read by Madam Poodle Paw, receive a little pampering in the “SPAW,” and receive a special blessing and prayer and leave a memory for a lost pet.
