Arrest Made in Case of Injuried Dog – Caldwell County

The Caldwell County Animal Care Enforcement Officers received a tip in this case on September 7, 2022. After investigating the tip, our Officers were able to identify the owner of the dog. The owner of the dog was identified as Bethany Marie Beaver, 21, of Lenoir. Further investigation determined that Beaver had left the animal on the side of the roadway where our Officer had located her.
On September 8, 2022, Animal Care Enforcement obtained an arrest warrant on Beaver for Felony Animal Cruelty.  Beaver was located and arrested with assistance from the Lenoir Police Department and the North Carolina Highway Patrol. Beaver was transported to the Caldwell County Magistrate’s Office, where she received a $15,000 bond. Beaver was then taken to the Caldwell County Detention Facility, where she will be held until she can make a bond.

Information Needed
On Saturday, September 2, 2022, Caldwell County Animal Care Enforcement received a call of an injured dog in the area of Abington Road and Valley View Circle. When our officer arrived on the scene, the dog was located off the roadway. The dog suffered a severe injury and was taken to an emergency vet to receive care. After emergency surgery, the dog is expected to make a full recovery.
The Caldwell County Animal Care Enforcement believes this dog was intentionally injured and left to die on the side of the road.
