Pick Your Own Hand-Blown Glass Pumpkin from This Artistic Pumpkin Patch in Hocking Hills – Cincinnati CityBeat

One Hocking Hills artist has put a decorative and delicate spin on the traditional fall pumpkin patch.
Jack Pine Studio is hosting the third-annual Glass Pumpkin Festival 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Sept. 23 through 25, featuring “thousands of spectacular hand-blown glass pumpkins,” per a release.
The pumpkins will be displayed in a “patch” on the lawn in front of the studio and will feature glass finishes ranging from vibrant color combinations to mother-of-pearl and iridized rainbow patterns.
Glass artist Jack Pine concocted the idea after 2020’s Circleville Pumpkin Festival was canceled in the wake of COVID-19. In addition to decorative pumpkins, this year’s Glass Pumpkin Festival will also include other arts and craft vendors, as well as fest food like pumpkin donuts, pumpkin ice cream and pumpkin rolls plus offerings from food trucks.
Glassblowing artists from Pine’s studio will be showing off their skills to festival goers, displaying how much work goes into these pieces of art. There will also be a 600-pound pumpkin being carved by world-famous pumpkin carver Gus Smithister.
Attendees will also be able to watch the unveiling of 2022’s Pumpkin of the Year created by Pine.
