Proclamation:

Hamilton County, Tennessee
Proclamation
In Honor of Dr. Richard C. Morrison
Whereas: Dr. Richard C. Morrison has dedicated his life and entire medical career to cardiothoracic surgery. Although Dr. Morrison will be the first to tell you that it’s “all about the patients,” if it hadn’t been for him and his surgical talents and abilities to maneuver quickly in impossible situations, many of his patients would not have survived.
And Whereas: Richard Morrison was awarded his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Tennessee in June 1977, performed his internship and residency through the University of Tennessee at Erlanger, and his Fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at New York University. He self-taught himself to sew and perform his procedures with either hand, making him one of the most sought-after surgeons during his Internship and Fellowship.
And Whereas: Richard Morrison was the chief house officer in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery at Bellevue Hospital Center and has been affiliated with several hospitals in this area serving as program director, Development of Cardiovascular Surgery.
And Whereas: Richard Morrison is a licensed physician in Tennessee and Georgia. He has been awarded several board certifications, awards, and society memberships and has earned respect from other physicians in the medical community.

And Whereas: Richard Morrison opened the Morrison Heart Center of Chattanooga and became its president. He is currently the chief of cardiac surgery at Hamilton Health Care System in Dalton, Georgia. He is facilitating the development of Hamilton’s Cardiovascular Institute. He continues to care for his patients in Chattanooga, Dalton, and the Tri-State communities.
And Whereas: Richard Morrison is an outstanding physician, dedicating his life to his patients and treating them in his own unique way. His type of care might include staying through the night(s) if a patient is struggling with recovery—a rare quality to find in a physician in today’s medical environment.
And Whereas: Dr. Richard C. Morrison answered God’s call to become a physician, saving thousands of lives and loved by countless more…AND GOD SMILES.
Now, therefore, let it be proclaimed: That we express appreciation and admiration for the spirit of devotion, unselfishness, and concern for others that motivates the life of Dr. Richard C. Morrison.
This the eighteenth day of August two thousand and twenty-two.
