Taking an active role in Sweat for Pets – The Recorder and Times

It’s the return of an annual fundraiser aimed at supporting vulnerable animals.

The Ontario SPCA’s Sweat for Pets runs until the end of August. The virtual event encourages people of all ages to challenge themselves through personal fitness goals at all levels while seeking pledges and raising money for the humane society.

Marianne Carlyle, a triathlete and manager of the Leeds and Grenville Animal Centre in Brockville, will run, bike and swim more than 250 km in August. Her goal is to raise $10,000 for Sweat for Pets.

“Every dollar raised during our campaign provides life-changing care and shelter to animals as we prepare them to find their loving forever home,” she stated in a news release. “Sweat for Pets is a small ask with a big impact!”

Visit sweatforpets.ca to register, donate or for more information about the seasonal fundraiser.

The local animal centre is located at 800 Centennial Rd. Call 613-345-5520  for more information about pet adoption.
