The company has donated pet food and essential supplies to over 9,000 non-profit organizations
Chewy announced this week that its philanthropic program – Chewy Gives Back – has donated more than $100 million to shelters and rescue pets in need.
“Creating a better world for pets in need and the communities that serve them is at the core of everything we do through Chewy Gives Back. We are excited to celebrate this incredible milestone hand in hand with customers and community members who share our passion for helping pets everywhere,” said Mita Malhotra, vice president of Chewy Healthcare and Shelters, in an organizational release.1
Spanning across the country, Chewy Gives Back helps to ensure non-profit animal organizations that need essential necessities like food and supplies. Chewy Gives back has contributed to these efforts within the last 10 years1:
Along with this milestone, Chewy has consistently donated food and supplies through Chewy Gives Back for the last 10 years. Chewy has also created Chewy’s Wish List which allows non-profit shelters or rescues within the United States to create a list of items they need.1 Once curated, the list is then available to millions of pet parents for them to have the chance to donate the items on the list and have them delivered directly to the organization.
“We feel beyond blessed that we have been able to work with Chewy. With their help, we’ve redistributed supplies to over 140 rescues, food banks, and sanctuaries; some of which would have to close their doors if not for the support they’ve received through this program,” said Sarah Taylor, president of Community Paws – a community-based animal rescue that provides education, awareness, and resources to pets in need through its participation with Chewy Gives Back.1
