Dog is Human, launched in April 2022 as the world’s first human-grade pet health company, announced today that it has closed a $1.2M pre-seed round.
The funding includes a list of executives, entrepreneurs, and investors in the CPG space led by beverage tycoon Ben Weiss, who sold his business Bai Brands to Dr. Pepper Snapple for $1.7 billion. Other participating investors include Lemon Perfect’s founder and CEO Yanni Hufnagel, consumer investor Ngan Capital, the founder of Lafayette Square Damien Dwin, and GoParrot Founder Yaniv Nissim, who sold his company to Block Inc.

Founded by UChicago graduates Timothy Chen and Kathan Mally, Dog is Human launched with a pre-existing cult following on Instagram and has experienced rapid growth since going live. The brand’s first product is a human-grade multivitamin soft chew for dogs. The DM-01 Daily Multivitamin was formulated by a team of board-certified veterinarians and includes 12 key nutrients to provide foundational health support beyond the diet.
Dog is Human has quickly become the industry innovator by making cleaner, better pet health products by combining human-grade ingredients with veterinary research. The company expects to see continued exponential growth through its “direct-to-community” marketing channel and will further accelerate its positive momentum by scaling R&D and their team.
