This Kardi, a French Bulldog from Lubbock, Texas.
Two dogs with mobility-assisting wheelchairs from Texas have won top spots in the 2023 Walkin’ Pets Calendar, an international contest featuring entries from 24 countries.
The eighth annual calendar contest focuses on bringing awareness to pet mobility and celebrates the incredible strength and “spirit of handicapable” animals, a press release from the organization states.
Without further ado, here are the two pups representing Texas in the 2023 calendar.
Kardi is a French Bulldog from Lubbock, and she became paralyzed from intervertebral disc disease in 2015.
“Kardi was an amazing little girl whose smile brightened the world,” says her owner. “As a therapy dog, she brought happiness to all who met her.”

Sadly, the press release added that Kardi passed in Feb. 2022.
This is Bay Lee, a Boykin Spaniel from the Houston area.
Bay Lee a Boykin Spaniel from the Houston area. Bay Lee was also diagnosed with intervertebral disc disease in 2021.
“Bay Lee has come a long way, and her prognosis continues to be positive,” says her owner. “She has bad days and great days, but wheels offer support for her back legs so that she doesn’t tire out too quickly.”
“Life with Bay Lee has definitely changed, but we still have our brave girl,” the family added.
The 2023 Walkin’ Pets Calendar proceeds will be donated to the Handicapped Pets Foundation to help disabled and injured pets in wheelchairs, the press release states. The 2023 Walkin’ Pets Calendar costs $14.95 and is now available for preorder.
